Job summary

Qualifications

• Familiarity with equipment, materials, methods, and tools used in carpentry.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to read simple blueprints and diagrams.
• Ability to measure and perform basic mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in fabricating, repairing, and replacing doors, windows, flooring, ceilings, glass, hardware, screens, etc.
• Assist carpenter with construction and repair of outdoor equipment like fences and bleachers.
• Assist with installation and moving of portable buildings and related steps and underpinning.
• Respond to emergency calls as needed and be on-call as assigned.
• Correct unsafe conditions and report uncorrectable issues to supervisor.
• Help keep shop, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition and safe to use.
• Operate tools and equipment according to safety procedures.
• Ensure equipment is maintained in safe operating condition.
• Follow safety procedures and perform duties involving lifting, climbing, and other physical requirements.
