Job summary

IAP World Services, an Intrepid Global Solutions company, is seeking a maintenance carpenter to perform carpentry duties to maintain woodwork and equipment across facilities in Virginia.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of related experience; certification may be required. Active Top Secret SCI with CI Poly clearance is preferred, and you will work with blueprints, hand tools, and power tools to plan layouts and select materials.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience as a craft worker.
• Certification in assigned area may be required.
• Security CLEARANCE: Active Top Secret SCI W/ CI Poly (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Plan and lay out carpentry work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions.
• Use a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools, and measuring instruments to build and repair wood structures and equipment.
• Select materials and perform maintenance to keep buildings and facilities in good repair.

Work involves most of the following: planning and laying out of work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions, using a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments, making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work; and selecting materials necessary for the work. In general, the work of the maintenance carpenter requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. This category includes occupations concerned with maintaining and repairing buildings, grounds, and related facilities; installing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining in efficient operating condition a wide variety of engines and mechanical equipment designed for use in domestic, commercial, industrial, and agricultural activities.
