Job summary

IAP World Services, an Intrepid Global Solutions company, seeks a grounds maintenance professional to support facilities in Virginia and Maryland. You will maintain grounds, operate mowing equipment, and coordinate irrigation and snow removal as part of a broader facilities team.

Qualified candidates have at least two years of grounds maintenance experience, knowledge of fertilizers and pesticides, and the ability to operate related equipment.

• Knowledge of equipment, tools, and procedures of grounds construction and care.
• Knowledge of fertilizers, insecticides, and herbicides used in grounds care and gardening.
• Skilled in operating grounds maintenance equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain shrubs, trees, lawns, planting areas, sprinkler systems, and watering lines.
• Operate large mowers and grounds maintenance equipment.
• Coordinate irrigation and watering in assigned areas.
• Trim and prune trees and shrubs as required.
• Snow and ice removal from roofs, sidewalks, and entryways.
• Perform minor maintenance and repair on equipment and tools.

Job description

Services provided include comprehensive facility operations; project management for renovations, minor construction, and major equipment repairs; engineering, construction, and operations support; custodial and grounds maintenance services; environmental, safety, and occupational health support; food services; motorpool and logistics operations; and physical and technical security services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for maintenance of shrubs, trees, lawns, planting areas, sprinkler systems, and area watering lines.
• Operates large power and field mowers, hand tools, and large vehicles associated with ground maintenance and landscaping activities.
• Schedules and coordinates irrigation and watering activities as required in assigned area.
• Trims and prunes a variety of trees and shrubs as required.
• Shovels and removes snow and ice from designated areas such as roofs, sidewalks, and entryways as required.
• Performs minor maintenance and repair on equipment and tools as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Must have two (2) years' Grounds Maintenance experience.
• Must have knowledge of equipment, tools, and procedures of grounds construction and care.
• Must have Knowledge of fertilizers, insecticides, and herbicides used in grounds care and gardening.
• Must be skilled in operating grounds maintenance and grounds construction equipment and tools.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working conditions include dirty environment, extreme temperatures, lifts or carries heavy objects.
