Job summary

West Virginia University’s Health Sciences Center Facilities Management is seeking a Carpenter to perform building maintenance, renovations, carpentry, masonry, and related tasks. The role supports project execution, reads prints, coordinates with various stakeholders, and ensures safety and cost control.

The position emphasizes delivering reliable maintenance, operating CMMS systems, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment across the Health Sciences Center facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years general trades building maintenance experience or an associate degree in building maintenance or related craft.
• Ability to read complex prints/drawings for repairs and construction.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review work orders; assist with multi-craft project assignments and maintenance tasks.
• Read and interpret prints/drawings for repairs or construction.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, engineers, and customers for timely repairs and projects.
• Relocate furniture and equipment; install and finish various components per drawings.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements; maintain clean, organized work sites.
