West Virginia University is seeking a Maintenance Worker II to support Facilities Management. The role involves assisting with carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, cleaning, and general maintenance across institutional buildings.

You will work under the supervision of a Trades Specialist Lead II, performing tasks that ensure safe, reliable building operations and a clean, well-maintained environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• A minimum of one year of experience in maintenance.
• Completion of vocational/technical training of up to 18 months beyond high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of one year of experience with proper commercial and/or residential cleaning and experience in assisting with general trades maintenance.

Responsabilités

• Assists various crafts with preventative maintenance tasks as needed.
• Assists trades specialists in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and related tasks.
• Assists in installation and modification of piping and equipment; cleans and solders fittings as needed.
• Performs basic painting duties and prepares surfaces for painting.
• Operates cleaning equipment and related tools; follows safety procedures.
• Interacts with supervisors to communicate work schedules and needs.
• Maintains interior cleanliness of assigned buildings including classrooms and offices.
