ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Understands and responds to internal guests needs. Communicates in a friendly, respectful and understandable manner. Politely gives consistent, timely and accurate information and finds answer when unsure. Uses outlined service behaviors when encountering guests. Meets expected service delivery times as defined by department’s service standards or as required by receiver of service or goods. Is a team player, cooperates with employees within the department as well as other departments. Speaks positively about the company, co-workers and guests.
Works from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to obtain dimensions and finish specifications for Carpentry work. Determines method and sequence of work operation, quality and size of raw stock and hardware necessary to complete assignment. May also make working sketches of partitions, walls, fixtures, and frames in order to complete required assignment. Performs general, minor carpentry repairs and maintenance of hotel facilities. Works with various types of hard woods and plastics. Builds repairs and installs dry walls, ceilings, doors/windows, cabinets, slot machine stands and furniture. May perform maintenance on gaming tables. Fabricates office partitions, doors, cornices, counters, panel walls, and ceilings. Maintains Preventive Maintenance Program. Keeps Lead informed of inventory of all materials and equipment necessary to perform job duties. Completes special assignments for management as requested.
EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalency certificate. Five years commercial experience in finish carpentry. Must be physically strong and a Journeyman Carpenter. Must be knowledgeable of building codes. Previous casino/hotel maintenance experience preferred. Must possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license.
