Job description

Join to apply for the Carpenter Foreman | Mortenson role at Mortenson.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring proper IWP is in place and understood by the crew.
  2. Examining blueprints to determine structure dimensions.
  3. Layout of floor plans and cabinetwork using tape, framing square, and calipers.
  4. Selecting and inspecting materials for conformance with building codes and local ordinances.
  5. Determining the sequence of fabrication, assembly, and erection activities.
  6. Assigning tasks such as cutting materials, building forms, erecting frameworks, and laying flooring.
  7. Inspecting subcontractor work for compliance.
  8. Installing doors, stairs, and hardwood floors.
  9. Shooting grades and elevations.
  10. Handling and erecting pre-fabricated materials.
  11. Performing concrete and rough carpentry tasks, including setting walls, footings, and decks.
  12. Carrying out finish carpentry, including door and hardware installation.
  13. Leading and managing team members, providing coaching, and building relationships across diverse backgrounds.
  14. Performing all other assigned duties.

Qualifications include:

  • Ability to work within precise standards and read plans.
  • Experience operating equipment like saws, sanders, drill presses, and rigging systems.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and positive attitude.
