Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. seeks a Carpenter Foreman to supervise crews on heavy highway projects in the Richmond, VA area. You will review plans, interpret blueprints, and coordinate with the Superintendent to plan two-week schedules, while enforcing safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Five years related experience in bridge and roadway work.
• Ability to lead a crew and supervise safety.
• Experience reading blueprints and plans to determine dimensions.

Responsibilities

• Reviews documents and plans and answers questions before activities.
• Directs and trains crew per contract drawings and specs within budget.
• Plans two-week sequence of activities with Superintendent and Project Engineer.
• Assigns tasks such as operating machinery, building forms, and laying pipe.
• Ensures safety regulations and PPE are followed.
• Maintains time and production records with detailed locations of work performed.
• Holds weekly safety meetings and reports attendance and content.
• Interprets company policies and enforces disciplinary procedures.
• Inspects subcontractors' work for conformance with specifications.
