About the Role
DN Tanks is seeking a skilled Carpenter Foreman to join our craft labor team. This role involves overseeing production, quality, and safety under the guidance of the Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent. The Foreman will play a vital role in ensuring successful project completion by providing hands-on support and guidance to the team, including training apprentices, journeymen, and other field personnel to ensure tasks are performed safely and to high standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Understand how the Carpenter interacts with a Laborer during tank building and direct work accordingly.
- Establish crews, assign responsibilities, and follow through on tasks to meet project timelines.
- Read and interpret tank drawings and construction information to ensure work aligns with specifications.
- Inventory materials upon delivery to verify compliance with contract drawings before approval.
- Participate in daily closeout meetings with the Superintendent, providing updates on activities and needs for the next day.
- Follow quality control procedures, understand construction tolerances, and report defects immediately.
- Verify elevation grades and plumbness on critical tank components.
- Adhere to safety procedures and DN Tanks safety policies.
- Identify hazards, take corrective actions, and promote safety awareness among team members.
- Encourage clean, safe work practices and monitor team adherence to safety standards.
- Provide coaching and training to motivate the team and uphold quality and safety standards.
- Maintain all certifications in accordance with DN Tanks Safety & Equipment Programs.
- Perform jobsite layout using survey equipment under the Superintendent's direction.
- Support training initiatives by collaborating with other tank builders and utilizing DN University resources.
Qualifications
- Operate and maintain DN Tanks tools and equipment.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across the United States as directed by the Field Operations Manager.
- Ability to climb and perform tasks at heights on steel/wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, shoring, and scaffolds.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, and vest.
- Complete DN Tanks crane certification.
