Job Description

This role focuses on installing windows and doors in multi-family housing units and residential new construction projects. You will work with a crew on active construction sites, handling materials, operating lifts and tools, and ensuring high-quality window and door installations. The position involves physical work, attention to detail, and comfort working at heights and on different job sites throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Install windows and doors in multi-family housing units and residential new construction projects.
• Meet at assigned jobsites and assist with unloading trailers or storage units containing windows and related materials.
• Carry windows and materials, including transporting them up stairs to units as high as seven stories, typically three or four stories.
• Unwrap windows and prepare materials for installation in an organized and safe manner.
• Measure window and door openings accurately using a tape measure to ensure proper fit and alignment.
• Tape window sills and prepare openings to meet installation standards and weatherproofing requirements.
• Set windows into prepared openings, ensuring they are level, plumb, and securely positioned.
• Apply caulking and sealants to ensure proper sealing, insulation, and weather resistance around windows and doors.
• Secure windows and doors using screws, fasteners, and appropriate tools according to specifications.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for cutting, fastening, and adjusting materials.
• Use boom lifts and other access equipment to perform installations at elevated heights when required.
• Follow commercial and residential construction practices and site procedures while maintaining a safe work area.
• Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and address any issues on site.
• Demonstrate reliability by arriving on time, following instructions, and contributing to a productive team environment.
• For more experienced levels, independently set windows, run lifts, and, if capable, lead and coordinate a crew on site.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
• Experience using general labor skills on construction sites, including material handling and basic site tasks.
• Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and measuring tools.
• Proficiency with power tools, including nailers, impact drivers, and other construction-related equipment.
• Ability to operate or work in boom lifts and other elevated work platforms.
• Carpentry skills, including rough carpentry and finish carpentry related to window and door installation.
• Experience with installing windows and doors in construction environments.
• Familiarity with commercial construction environments, especially multifamily new construction.
• Capability to carry 50 pounds or more repeatedly as part of daily duties.
• Comfort working at heights, including upper-story levels in multi-story buildings.
• Demonstrated ability to show up consistently, maintain a good attitude, and follow safety and work procedures.
• Ability to run lifts and set windows independently for higher skill levels.
• Capability to run or lead a crew for candidates at the top skill bracket, even without prior formal leadership experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
