Aerotek is seeking a Construction Technician to support concrete repair, demolition, waterproofing, and strengthening projects across Denver-area sites. The role is outdoor, field-based, with travel to multiple job sites and a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

You will perform surface prep, patching, finishing, and installation of formwork, rebar, and carbon fiber systems while coordinating with a team to meet project timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform concrete repair on commercial structures, including surface prep and restoration.
  • Demolition using jackhammers and demolition tools in a safe manner.
  • Assist with concrete placement, pours, leveling, and finishing.
  • Support strengthening activities and installation of reinforcement systems.
  • Build, install, and remove formwork for pours and repairs.
  • Replace and install reinforcing steel as required.
  • Apply caulking and sealants for waterproofing and durability.
  • Install expansion joints and coatings/epoxies as required.
  • Assist with carbon fiber reinforcement installation.
  • Travel to/around Denver and Colorado sites as needed.
  • Maintain safe, organized work areas and communicate status to supervisors.

Job Title: Construction Technician
Job Description

The Construction Technician supports a wide range of concrete repair, demolition, and strengthening projects on commercial construction sites. This role focuses on hands-on field work, including structural restoration, waterproofing, and installation of specialized systems that make structures stronger and longer lasting. You will work outdoors on varied projects, travel to multiple job sites, and contribute to high-quality construction solutions in demanding environments.

Responsibilities
  • Perform concrete repair on commercial structures, including surface preparation, patching, and restoration work.
  • Carry out concrete demolition using tools such as jackhammers and other demolition equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Assist with concrete placement and finishing, including pours, leveling, troweling, and achieving proper surface finishes.
  • Support concrete strengthening activities, including installation of reinforcement systems and structural upgrades.
  • Build, install, and remove formwork using carpentry skills to support concrete pours and structural repairs.
  • Replace and install rebar and other reinforcing steel as required by project specifications.
  • Apply caulking and sealants to joints, cracks, and penetrations to ensure proper waterproofing and durability.
  • Install and maintain expansion joints to accommodate structural movement and protect concrete elements.
  • Apply coatings, epoxies, and other protective systems to concrete surfaces according to manufacturer and project requirements.
  • Install carbon fiber reinforcement systems to strengthen structural components and extend service life.
  • Perform waterproofing tasks on various structures, including preparation, application, and quality checks.
  • Assist with framing and general carpentry work related to concrete and structural projects.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and guidelines, participating in a safety-oriented culture on larger construction sites.
  • Travel to and from job sites throughout Denver, surrounding areas, and other regions as required.
  • Collaborate with team members, contribute to problem-solving on site, and maintain a solution-oriented approach to project challenges.
  • Use hand and power tools, including jackhammers and carpentry tools, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of materials and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project status, needs, and safety concerns.
  • Adhere to project schedules and deadlines while delivering high-quality workmanship on all assigned tasks.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of commercial construction experience is preferred, with exposure to larger construction sites and site safety practices.
  • Experience in concrete repair, including surface preparation, patching, and restoration.
  • Experience in concrete demolition, including safe operation of jackhammers and demolition tools.
  • Ability to perform concrete placement and finishing, including pours, leveling, and finishing techniques.
  • Knowledge of formwork and carpentry related to concrete construction and structural repairs.
  • Experience with rebar replacement and installation of reinforcing steel.
  • Ability to apply caulking, sealants, and waterproofing systems to concrete and structural elements.
  • Experience with expansion joint installation and maintenance.
  • Ability to apply coatings and epoxies to concrete surfaces according to specified procedures.
  • Familiarity with carbon fiber installation for structural strengthening.
  • Comfort working in exterior labor environments such as construction sites, farms, landscaping, or concrete work.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to and from job sites throughout Denver and surrounding areas.
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on solutions and safety.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment in a construction environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience in construction or related exterior labor environments is preferred, though training is available for motivated candidates.
  • Experience in farm work, landscaping, concrete work, or other outdoor labor roles is considered acceptable background.
  • Prior experience on larger commercial construction sites is highly beneficial.
  • Demonstrated understanding of site safety practices and willingness to follow all safety protocols.
  • Basic carpentry and framing skills related to formwork and structural work.
  • Experience with waterproofing systems and techniques.
  • Ability to travel for extended periods, up to 3 weeks at a time, including in-state and out-of-state assignments.
  • Flexibility to work on projects across Colorado, including mountain and resort communities, as well as out-of-state locations such as Texas.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and trades, including advanced concrete strengthening and carbon fiber installation.

Work Environment

This is a field-based role in commercial construction, working primarily outdoors and on active job sites. You will travel regularly to projects across Denver and surrounding areas, with additional assignments throughout Colorado in locations such as Aspen, Telluride, Cortez, Crested Butte, Vail, and Denver. Candidates must also be able to travel out of state to Texas, including Houston, Dallas, and Galveston. Travel periods can last up to 3 weeks at a time. When working 70 miles or more from the shop, lodging is provided, and a daily per diem is available, with different rates for resort and non-resort locations. The environment involves physical labor, use of tools such as jackhammers and carpentry equipment, and work in varying weather conditions. You operate within a strong safety culture, on structured construction sites, collaborating closely with a team to deliver durable, high-quality structural solutions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 – $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
