Job summary

Aerotek in Big Sky, MT seeks an experienced carpenter for a contract‑to‑hire role on high‑end residential projects. You will perform framing through finish carpentry, read blueprints and schedules, and coordinate with foremen to ensure safety and quality.

You will mentor apprentices, assist with planning and material staging, and ensure installations meet manufacturer requirements and company best practices on every task.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of full-time carpentry construction experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in high-end luxury home construction.
• Strong proficiency in residential carpentry from framing through finish work.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schedules, and construction details accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform all phases of residential construction from framing through finish carpentry on high-end custom homes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schedules, and detailed construction documents to plan and execute work accurately.
• Complete advanced layout, roof framing, stair construction, and window and door installation to a high standard of craftsmanship.
• Install drywall and finish materials with attention to detail and quality.
• Assist Foremen and Superintendents with daily crew coordination and overall project execution.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized jobsites, following established safety practices at all times.
• Protect completed work from damage and ensure all installations meet company quality standards.
• Train, mentor, and supervise Apprentice carpenters and Carpenter Trainees to support their skill development.
• Assist with project planning, including material staging, equipment usage, and meeting productivity goals.
• Ensure manufacturer installation requirements are followed and adhere to company best practices on every task.
• Use carpentry hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete assigned work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Big Sky, MT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $42.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
