Job description

Job Title: Carpenter at BELFOR Property Restoration

Join us to apply for the Carpenter role at BELFOR Property Restoration.

This position involves providing operational support in reconstruction efforts for clients. Qualified candidates will oversee multiple projects and serve as key trainers for less skilled carpenters. The role is ideal for experienced CAT Team members involved in large-scale commercial reconstruction projects. Advanced carpenters are knowledgeable about all relevant equipment, tools, and installation of commercial construction materials, with experience in commercial, industrial, and institutional construction practices, including shrink wrapping, scoping, and leading installation. This position is classified as Level 4 in the Progressive Carpenter track.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential project issues and seek guidance promptly.
• Train Carpenter Basic and Carpenter Intermediate team members across all job facets.
• Respond to project-related questions and escalate complex issues appropriately.
• Construct containment for dust, dirt, and airborne contaminants.
• Construct metal-framed walls, acoustical ceilings, and repair or replace roofing as needed.
• Perform flood cuts, salvage, and label baseboards, cabinets, doors, etc., using appropriate tools and BELFOR methods.
• Identify types of insulation, their thickness, and R-values.
• Apply skills related to trim, doors, cabinetry, insulation, framing, ceilings, roofing, and siding to daily tasks.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections.
• Maintain attention to detail and adhere to safety standards to protect property.
• Provide excellent customer service and work efficiently under time constraints.
• Work nights, weekends, and travel as required.
• Accurately report work hours and usage of equipment and materials.
• Attend BELFOR safety and operations training courses as scheduled.

Requirements

• Supervise unskilled labor, BELFOR employees at basic and intermediate levels, and subcontractors in various settings, including high-risk projects.
• Answer basic project questions and refer complex issues to qualified personnel.
• Maintain and operate equipment used in daily tasks.
• Perform emergency services such as board-ups and securing buildings.
• Perform other duties as required.
