The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) manages over 200 facilities and works to prevent and address homelessness in NYC. The Facilities and Logistics Division (F&L) provides maintenance and repair services to City-owned facilities.

The Supervisor Carpenter will:

1. Supervise carpenters and oversee installation and repair work.
2. Make work decisions, schedule, and assign tasks.
3. Conduct inspections and prepare reports.
4. Ensure safety standards and coordinate with other departments.
5. Manage blueprints, inventory, and resolve construction issues.

Work Location: 101-07 Farragut Road, Brooklyn, NY

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 3:30pm

Minimum Qualifications

• 7 years of recent carpentry experience, with 2 years in supervision; or
• Equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in commercial carpentry, knowledge of NYC regulations, leadership skills, blueprints reading, and familiarity with homeless services facilities.
