Title: Carpenter
Position Purpose:

Executing all varieties of carpentry-mason related construction,maintenance, renovation, and repair projects on campus, using highquality carpentry/masonry skills.

Job Duties:
  • Coordinate all carpenter and or masonry work with otherbuilding trades
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Communicate well with all customers, staff and faculty andunderstand their needs
  • Provide sketches of objects to be built in the carpenter shopand installed throughout the campus buildings
  • Operate all carpenter related equipment
  • Perform all carpentry related functions
  • Complete work orders and PM (Preventive Maintenance) slips
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Trade school diploma or other carpentry and or masonrycredentials desired
Experience
  • 5 years of residential and/or commercial buildingexperience
  • Ability to work with wood, metal, or materials necessary forfabrication, repair, and renovation of all buildings
  • Knowledge of tools, building supplies, and hardware associatedwith building trade
  • Computer experience and ability to understand CAD drafting usesand blueprints
  • Knowledge of roofing, concrete work, window, and doorinstallation also desired
  • Ability to use table saws, band saws, planers, and other toolsgenerally associated with building trades
  • Some experience with tile work preferred includinggrouting
  • Some masonry experience preferred including repointing, andlaying brick
Skills and Knowledge

Hiring Range:

The hiring range for this position is $23.76to $28.00. Placement within the range depends on experience andother factors.
