Ysleta Independent School District in El Paso, TX seeks a skilled carpenter to perform preventive and emergency repairs in school facilities. You will fabricate and install cabinetry, doors, and related components, read blueprints, and manage materials on site.
The role emphasizes safety, adherence to district policies, and the ability to supervise the Trades Helper while coordinating with the supervisor to complete prioritized tasks. A valid driver’s license is required.
Perform preventive and emergency repairs and installation in the field of rough and finished carpentry and carpentry-related areas under general supervision in accordance with established priorities and policies. Tasks are diverse in nature and require use of individual analysis and judgment. Adhere to federal and state laws, as well as district policies, procedures, and regulations.
High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); three (3) years of verifiable carpentry experience and related technical training experience; cabinet making experience preferred. Must possess a valid Texas/New Mexico driver's license; subject to the district's drug and alcohol screening policy and regulation; must be insurable by the district's auto liability insurance carrier.
Must be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull up to fifty (50) pounds frequently; work under all weather conditions; be adaptable to work a shift schedule and/or hours other than regularly assigned; extended periods of walking, standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting.
