Ysleta Independent School District is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to perform routing preventive and emergency maintenance in the utilities area. You will handle wall, floor, ceiling, masonry and specialty finishes, ensuring compliance with district policies and safety standards.
Responsibilities include problem solving on-site, interpreting blueprints, planning work, and supervising staff as needed. Valid Texas/NM driver's license and English literacy are required as are adherence to safety
Perform routing preventive and emergency maintenance in the area of utilities to include a broad range of wall, floor, ceiling, masonry, specialty finishes, and improvement duties as part of the Maintenance Services team. Maintenance of hardware and equipment under general supervision in accordance with established priorities and policies. Tasks similar in nature and require moderate use of individual analysis and judgment. Adhere to federal and state laws, as well as district policies, procedures, and regulations.
High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); three (3) years of verifiable experience in the area of utilities to include a broad range of wall, floor, ceiling and specialty finishes; maintenance of hardware typical to school such as lockers and restroom accessories, masonry, preferred: related technical training preferred. Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions; ability to read and understand instructions related to environmental services, maintenance and safety procedures. Must possess a valid Texas or New Mexico driver's license; be insurable by the district's auto liability insurance carrier; subject to the YISD drug and alcohol testing policy and regulation. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Must be able to life, carry, push and/or pull up to fifty (50) pounds frequently; work under all weather conditions, be adaptable to work a shift schedule and/or hours other than regularly assigned; extended periods of walking, standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting.
