This is a contingent position based upon contract award.

KBR is seeking a highly motivated and career-oriented Carpenter to join our team supporting a government client in Maryland. In this role, you will be part of the acquisition management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance of building woodwork and associated equipment.
  • Design, build, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials, including furniture, stairways, door frames, partitions, and rafters.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements and provide accurate work estimates.
  • Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other materials (e.g., fiberglass and drywall) according to measurements.
  • Inspect building frameworks (e.g., walls, roofs) to identify the need for repairs or replacements and ensure structural integrity.
  • Liaise with other maintenance teams to coordinate renovations or major repair tasks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment during all construction activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials inventory and task completion to ensure accountability and proper project tracking.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with willingness to sit for a polygraph upon request.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • 5+ years’ experience in carpentry, including advanced woodworking skills and knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools.
  • Strong understanding of building materials and construction methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in Carpentry or a related field is preferred.
  • Good physical condition and endurance, with the ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, capable of working effectively with others to complete projects.
  • Ability to maximize technical, performance, and operational efficiencies and minimize lifecycle costs.
  • Ability to maximize services and capabilities, provisioned as a service.

Desired:

Basic Compensation: $55,600 - $83,300

This range is for the Maryland area only. The offered rate will be based on the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience, considering internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may include sign-on bonuses, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
