This position is responsible for providing operational support in reconstruction efforts for clients. The qualified candidate must have extensive carpentry experience and the capability to work with little supervision. The candidate should assist with scope development with BELFOR Estimators and run projects autonomously. An Intermediate Carpenter will participate in developing basic level carpenters. Objectives include expanding capabilities from residential to commercial and multi-family projects, leading emergency services, and increasing proficiency with various carpentry subsets such as framing, cabinetry, and trim. This is a Level 3 position in the Progressive Carpenter track.

Responsibilities

• Recognize potential problems and request guidance as needed
• Answer project questions and escalate complex issues
• Move and protect contents without damage
• Construct containment for dust, dirt, and airborne contaminants
• Perform flood cutting, salvaging, and labeling of baseboards, cabinets, doors, etc.
• Complete shrink wrap training and projects
• Identify insulation types, thickness, and R-values
• Apply skills to tasks involving trim, doors, cabinetry, insulation, framing, ceilings, roofing, and siding
• Perform vehicle safety and maintenance inspections
• Maintain attention to detail and safeguard property
• Provide excellent customer service
• Work under time constraints, nights, weekends, and travel as needed
• Report work and resource usage accurately
• Attend safety and operations training

Requirements

• Supervise unskilled labor, basic employees, and subcontractors in residential settings
• Answer simple project questions and escalate complex ones
• Maintain equipment used in daily tasks
• Perform emergency services such as board-ups and securing buildings
• Perform other duties as required
