Job summary

A freight services company is seeking a Cargo Wise Senior System Administrator based in Michigan. This individual will be responsible for the maintenance, issue support, and development of the Cargo Wise system. Key duties include daily system support, collaboration with IT and Operations for custom reporting and workflows, and ensuring system security. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and have at least 3 years of experience in the Freight Forwarding industry with strong SQL knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, ideally in computer science.
• Minimum of 3 years of Freight Forwarding industry experience.
• Cargo Wise administrator experience, ideally possessing a Cargo Wise Professional certification.
• Thorough knowledge of SQL programming language.
• Ability to work as part of a dynamic and diverse team as well as function independently.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day support of the Cargo Wise application and users.
• Develop and maintain custom reporting for internal operations and clients.
• Maintain custom workflows used by operations teams.
• Develop new EDI integration as necessary.
• Oversee Cargo Wise systems security.
• Apply regular Cargo Wise updates.

Purpose Of The Job

Reporting to the Director of Application Development and Product Services, this candidate will be well versed in all aspects of the Cargo Wise application from both the operational side and the administrative/development side. The person will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, issue support and development of the Cargo Wise system, possible supervision of additional resources, and working closely with external consultants.

Roles And Responsibility

• Day-to-day support of the Cargo Wise application and users
• Work with the IT and Operations team to develop and maintain custom reporting for internal operations and clients.
• Work with the IT and Operations team to develop and maintain custom workflows used by our operations teams to manage their day-to-day tasks and client service.
• Work with IT and operations to develop new internal and external EDI integration as they arise.
• Work with the IT and Operations team to develop and maintain custom browser filters, which are used to run the day-to-day freight operations.
• Work with the IT and Operations team to develop and maintain custom quoting forms and rate sheets.
• Work with the IT and Operations team to develop and maintain Freight Forwarding client key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics using Microsoft Power BI, including data ETL (extracts-transform-load) to the backend data warehouse.
• Oversee and assist in troubleshooting existing system-to-system, client and agent integrations.
• Work with the IT and Operations team to develop and maintain Cargo Wise systems security.
• Research and apply regular Cargo Wise updates as they become available.
