Job summary

Families Rising Minnesota is seeking a Part-time Parent Support Specialist to provide peer support and resource navigation for adoptive, foster, and kinship caregivers across Minnesota. The role is primarily remote with occasional in-person meetings and requires evening/weekend hours to support programming.

Ideal candidates are compassionate, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities while documenting activities and reporting as required.

Qualifications

• Lived experience as an adoptive, foster, or kinship caregiver is highly valued.
• Compassionate, organized, self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized peer support to adoptive, foster, and kinship caregivers via phone, email, text, virtual meetings, and in-person contacts.
• Offer emotional support, parenting strategies, and information on adoption, foster care, kinship care, trauma, grief, attachment, identity, etc.
• Connect caregivers to Families Rising Minnesota services and resources.
• Build relationships to reduce isolation and increase access to support.
• Plan, coordinate, facilitate, and support regional family events, trainings, and educational opportunities.
• Maintain accurate documentation of contacts, services, and referrals.
