Job summary

Right at Home in Billings, MT is seeking a compassionate Home Health Aide (HHA) / Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support seniors in their homes. You will provide daily living assistance, monitor health, and support mobility, dressing, and meal needs in a respectful, home-like setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 6 months HHA/PCA experience, English proficiency, and a valid driver's license. CPR is recommended and ongoing training is provided.

Qualifications

• Six months experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in health care (in homes or facilities).
• Reads, writes, speaks, and understands English as needed for the job.
• Current CPR Certificate is recommended.
• Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and handle job demands.
• Valid driver’s license and access to insured transportation.

Responsibilities

• Reinforcement of dressings (non-sterile).
• Assist with devices for daily living (cane, walker, wheelchair, lift).
• Assist with prescribed range of motion exercises.
• Monitor blood sugar as required.
• Measure and prepare special diets; track intake and output.
• Take vital signs (temp, pulse, respirations, BP).
• Assist with external catheter application.
• Assist with arm/leg splints as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with sugar monitoring.
• Measuring and preparing special diets
• Measuring intake and output
• Taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure)
• Application of an external (condom-type) catheter
• Assisting with application of arm sling, arm splint or leg splint

Requirements

• High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate
• Six months experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in health care (in homes or facilities).
• Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job
• Current CPR Certificate is recommended
• Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care
• Read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
• Have a valid driver’s license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportation
