Job summary

Right at Home Lexington is hiring for day shifts with urgent Sunday coverage. We seek energetic, compassionate Caregivers to assist elderly clients with daily living activities in their homes. Shifts include 8a-8p, 8p-8a, 8a-2p, and 2p-8p, with Sunday need emphasized.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, six months HHA/PCA experience with state-approved training, a valid driver’s license, and fluency in English. CPR is recommended.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and/or GED.
• Six months experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in health care and successful completion of a State approved Nurses Aide or HHA/PCA course.
• Empathetic attitude toward the care of the elderly and ability to handle job demands.
• Current CPR certificate is recommended.
• Reads, writes, and speaks English as needed for the job.
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle for work and transporting clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with devices for daily living (cane, walker, wheelchair, lift).
• Assist with prescribed range of motion exercises.
• Measure and prepare special diets.
• Measure intake and output.
• Assist with external catheter application.
• Assist with arm/leg support devices as needed.
• Assist with daily personal care needs.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the use of devices for aid in daily living (cane, walker, wheelchair or lift device, hearing aids)

• Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises

• Measuring and preparing special diets

• Measuring intake and output

• Application of an external (condom-type) catheter

• Assisting with application of arm sling, arm splint or leg splint

• Assisting with daily personal care needs

Requirements:

• High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate
• Six months experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in health care (in homes or facilities) and successful completion of a State approved Nurses Aide or Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) course
• Must have a empathetic attitude toward the care of the elderly and sick, and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job
• Current CPR Certificate is recommended
• Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care
• Read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
• Have a valid driver’s license and use of an insured automobile for work and transporting clients
