Job summary

Right at Home Lexington is seeking energetic, empathetic Caregivers (HHA/PCA) to help the elderly community. Flexible shifts include 8a-8p, 8p-8a, 8a-2p, and 2p-8p, with special need for Sunday workers. You will be valued as the heart of our service, improving lives through compassionate care and dedicated support.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• Six months HHA/PCA experience in health care (in homes or facilities).
• Current CPR certificate recommended.
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle for work and transporting clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities (cane, walker, wheelchair, lift devices).
• Assist with prescribed ROM exercises and meal/measuring intake/output.
• Apply external catheter and assist with arm/leg splints.
• Provide daily personal care and transportation for clients.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the use of devices for aid in daily living (cane, walker, wheelchair or lift device, hearing aids)
• Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
• Measuring and preparing special diets
• Measuring intake and output
• Application of an external (condom-type) catheter
• Assisting with application of arm sling, arm splint or leg splint
• Assisting with daily personal care needs

Requirements

• High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate
• Six months experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in health care (in homes or facilities) and successful completion of a State approved Nurses Aide or Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) course
• Must have a empathetic attitude toward the care of the elderly and sick, and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job
• Current CPR Certificate is recommended
• Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care
• Read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
• Have a valid driver’s license and use of an insured automobile for work and transporting clients
