Job summary

HomeWell Care Services of Northwest Indiana is seeking compassionate caregivers for in-home, one-on-one care. You will provide non-medical services to help seniors age in place, forming meaningful relationships and delivering empathetic, quality care in clients' homes.

Qualifications

• No healthcare certification required, but CNA, HHA, or 6 months plus caring for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled persons preferred.
• Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's care a plus.
• Must have daily access to email and a mobile phone; valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability to travel 15 miles for shifts.

• Support with daily living tasks such as feeding, medication reminders, bathing/dressing, personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, light housekeeping, laundry and meal preparation
• Transportation to appointments, errands and social outings

RESPONSIBILITIES

With dignity, compassion, and care, your duties include, but are not limited to:

• Social companionship
• Support with a variety of daily living tasks such as feeding and medication reminders, bathing/dressing and personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, light housekeeping, light cleaning, laundry and cooking/meal preparation
• Transportation to appointments, errands and social outings
• Standby assistance with transfers
• Overnight safety assistance

QUALIFICATIONS

• No healthcare certification is required, but CNA, HHA, or 6 months plus caring for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled persons preferred
• Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's care a plus
• Daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone
• Pass a criminal background check (national and any required by the state)
• Proof of current, negative, tuberculosis (TB) test
• Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position, including the ability to lift, push and pull approximately 25lbs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation in addition to proof of valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance
• Ability to travel 15 miles for any scheduled shifts
• A compassionate heart for older adults
• Must possess excellent communication skills
• Are mature, caring, punctual and reliable

Compensation: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
