Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Location: High Point, NC. This role provides support for individuals and/or groups of persons with intellectual, developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use challenges in the community. The DSP assists clients in communicating their needs, implements services as outlined in each person’s Centered Plan, and works under the direction and supervision of the team.

Schedule: Shifts vary by location. All days of the week, Monday through Sunday, are covered. Shifts may include a variety of day, evening, and overnight options.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with health and safety procedures
• Support people in development and community life
• Provide assistance to team members and supervisors
• Aid in the creation and execution of person‑centered plans and outcomes
• Assist with medical requests and documentation
• Collect and report data on client progress

Job Requirements

• Minimum age 18 years
• Valid driver’s license (if vehicle use is required)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Physical ability to lift 30–70 pounds, pull 50 pounds, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop as needed
• Frequent use of hands for handling objects and tools
• Ability to stand and walk regularly
• Proficiency in CPR (floor level, required to work on hands, knees, bending, standing, and lifting)
• Adequate visual acuity—close, distance, and peripheral vision
• Pass pre‑employment screening, including criminal background check, drug testing, and education verification
