Position Overview

We are hiring a Caregiver / Direct Support Professional to join our team at RHA Health Services. In this entry‑level role you will support individuals with intellectual, developmental, mental health, or substance use challenges in achieving their goals and living their best lives. The position is available on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts and includes a sign‑on bonus of $1,000.

Responsibilities

• Assist persons with identifying and communicating their needs and requests.
• Implement services and supports outlined in each individual’s Centered Plan.
• Provide education on human, legal, and civil rights.
• Promote healthy living, self‑advocacy, and independent decision‑making.
• Accompany individuals to work, movies, concerts, shopping, and other community outings.
• Teach independent living skills and assist with personal care, bathing, laundry, and cleaning.
• Document the care provided and maintain confidentiality.
• Provide transportation to appointments where required.
• Assist with medication administration where state law allows.
• Use effective advocacy strategies to connect individuals with resources for education, employment, and volunteer opportunities.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (Preferred).
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Valid driver’s license and, if required, vehicle insurance and a reliable vehicle.
• Conflict resolution skills, effective communication, and decision‑making ability.
• Some computer skills preferred.
• Reliable attendance and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Complete pre‑employment screening, including criminal background check, drug test, education verification, and employment history or references.
