Direct Support Supervisor

Responsible for direct supervision of two or more employees, ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage residential homes and facilities as assigned.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of Direct Support Employees.
• Work assigned time in the residential home/facility.
• Resolve employee issues and conduct performance reviews.
• Ensure employees meet training requirements and attend required events.
• Provide after‑hours and on‑call coverage as part of the direct care rotation.
• Monitor and provide feedback to employees in interactions and relationships with the people supported.
• Ensure that people supported have a clean and maintained home and yard.
• Help implement services and supports that assist people in achieving personal goals and desired outcomes as identified through an Individual Support Plan.
• Carry out the responsibilities of a Direct Support Professional.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Interview, recommend for hiring, and train employees.
• Plan, assign, and direct work while reviewing performance, rewarding, motivating, and promoting team performance.
• Address complaints and resolve problems.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D required; Associate Degree in a health‑related area or two years’ experience in a health‑related field preferred.
• One year of experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
• Flexible schedule and availability to provide on‑call coverage as needed.
• Provide CPR after certification.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license; CPR, first aid, NCI and/or MedTech certification a plus.
• Pre‑employment screening which includes criminal background and drug testing, education verification and proof of employment history or references (if required).
• Positions that require driving must have proof of driver’s license, driver’s insurance, and a vehicle if required for providing transportation for individuals.
