Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Independence at Home is seeking Homemaker Caregivers to support elderly and disabled clients in their homes. Duties include personal care, meals, and light housekeeping while maintaining dignity and independence for clients.

Applicants should have a driver’s license and reliable car, with CNA experience welcomed for new grads. Shifts are hourly and coverage spans various areas within reasonable distance of your residence.

Qualifications

• Hourly Caregivers must have a driver's license and car with auto insurance.
• One year of previous personal care experience at a facility or agency.
• Two years of continuous work experience.
• Caregivers must be comfortable driving within 30 minutes of where they live for cases.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene and grooming for clients.
• Help with toileting and ambulation.
• Prepare meals meeting nutritional needs.
• Report changes in clients' condition to nurse or supervisor.
• Perform routine housekeeping and home management duties.
• Document care provided on the care plan promptly.
• Provide emotional support to clients and families.
• Assist with routine therapy exercises.
• Attend required in-service education sessions.
• Use computer software and smartphone for required education.
• Represent the company with professional customer service.

Shift Detail: Hourly cases range anywhere from 4- 12 hours at any time in the day, evening or night. Shifts will take place within 30 minutes of where you reside.

Homemaker Caregiver responsibilities

• personal hygiene and grooming care to clients
• Assistance with toileting, ambulation, etc.
• Providing meals for clients' nutritional needs
• Reporting changes in clients' condition to nurse, supervisor, or client care coordinator
• Performing routine housekeeping and home management duties
• Recording each client's care on care plan and submitting care plan in a timely manner
• Assisting with providing emotional support for the clients and their families
• Assisting with routine therapy exercises
• Participating in case conferences as requested
• Attends all required in-service education sessions
• Has the ability to use computer software program and smart phone for required education
• Represents the company in a positive and professional manner through a high level of customer service
• Can think critically without direct supervision and the ability to escape when appropriate
