Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Independence at Home is seeking a Homemaker Caregiver to support elderly and disabled clients in their own homes within Connecticut. Responsibilities include personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and care plan documentation, with shifts that can occur day, evening, or night across a 30-minute driving radius.

Applicants should have a driver’s license, CNA welcome for new grads, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Hourly Caregivers must have a driver's license and car with auto insurance.
• One year of previous personal care experience at a facility or agency.
• Two years of continuous work experience.
• New Grad CNA's are welcome.
• Caregivers must be comfortable driving within 30 minutes of where they live for cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene and grooming care to clients.
• Assist with toileting and ambulation as needed.
• Prepare meals to meet nutritional needs.
• Report changes in clients' condition to nurse or supervisor.
• Perform routine housekeeping and home management duties.
• Document care on the care plan and submit promptly.
• Offer emotional support to clients and families.
• Assist with routine therapy exercises.
• Participate in case conferences as requested.
• Attend required in-service education sessions.
• Use computer software and smartphone for education.
• Represent the company professionally with high customer service.
• Think critically with minimal supervision when appropriate.

Shift Detail: Hourly cases range anywhere from 4- 12 hours at any time in the day, evening or night. Shifts will take place within 30 minutes of where you reside.

Homemaker Caregiver responsibilities

• personal hygiene and grooming care to clients
