Job summary

Senior Helpers in Bellwood, IL is seeking compassionate caregivers to join our in-home care team. We welcome applicants with any experience level and provide on-the-job training and growth opportunities.

We serve the greater Chicagoland area with weekday, weekend, and overnight shifts, matching your schedule with clients and needs. As a caregiver, you will build trusting relationships, perform light housekeeping and meal prep, and provide personalized care per the care plan.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior caregiving experience preferred, but on-the-job training offered.
• Reliable, empathetic, and flexible (preferred).
• Strong communication skills to build trusting relationships with clients and families.
• Patient, reliable, and culturally sensitive; commitment to preserving client dignity.
• Able to work weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle with car insurance.
• Negative Tuberculosis test.

Responsibilities

• Build a positive relationship with your client by taking part in engaging conversations and participating in your client’s favorite hobbies.
• Be able to perform light housekeeping, cook, and run errands as needed.
• Provide individualized care as detailed in the care plan.
• Have the ability to remain calm and collected during emergencies.
• Be able to communicate with the office regarding any client changes to the office.
