Job summary

Senior Helpers of Greater Chicago is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide in-home care in the Chicagoland area. We match your skill level and offer learning opportunities to grow professionally within the care industry.

Shifts include weekdays, weekends, flex care, day/evening/overnights, with a focus on personal care and meaningful engagement. Benefits include PTO accrual, health/dental/vision insurance eligibility after 1500 hours, 401(k) benefits, and a supportive team environment

Qualifications

• Provided companionship and emotional support to enhance well-being.
• Assisted with light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a tidy living space.
• Reminded clients of daily routines, appointments, and personal care schedules.
• Monitored general health and reported any unusual changes in mood, behavior, or physical condition.
• Ran errands, shopped for groceries, or accompanied clients to social events and appointments.
• Maintained a safe and comfortable environment for clients at all times.
• With a negative Tuberculosis Test.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if needed
• Offer companionship and meaningful engagement
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry
• Provide medication reminders (per care plan and state guidelines)
• Monitor client condition and report changes promptly
• Accompany clients to appointments or errands when required
• Maintain accurate daily care documentation
• Ensure a safe, comfortable, and supportive home environment
