Job summary

Lakeside Place Senior Living is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily nursing care for residents in long-term or rehabilitative care settings. You will perform personal care, assist with daily routines, and support care plans under supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma, nursing assistant certification, CPR/First Aid, and experience with the elderly. English literacy is essential. This is a full-time, on-site role with benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
• Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
• Completion of certification program for Nursing Assistants preferred.
• Experience working with the elderly is desirable.
• Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
• Must be certified in CPR, first aid training and documentation of Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor.

Responsibilities

• Assists the resident in daily routines, personal care and housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the resident care.
• Provides services that support the care delivered to residents and reviews care plans for changes.
• Contributes to standards of care formulation and evaluation.
• Participates in identifying staff educational needs.
• Maintains professional conduct per facility policies.
• Surveys for safety and manages daily room upkeep including linens.
• Assists with Activity Participation and documents resident participation.
• Ensures call lights are answered and requests addressed.
• Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning dining areas.
• Maintains confidentiality of resident information.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or Executive Director.

Summary of Responsibility

Provides routine daily nursing care and services that support the care delivered to residents requiring long-term or rehabilitative care, in accordance with the established nursing care procedures and as directed by the supervisor.

Duties

1. Assists the resident in any daily routines, any personal care and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.


2. Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the resident.


3. Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident and daily review care plans to determine ID changes in the daily care routine have been made.


4. Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.


5. Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.


6. Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit facility policies.


7. Surveys for safety and picks up resident's room each day. Removes all soiled linens from rooms. Bed linens, towels and wash cloths are to be changed once a week or as necessary.


8. Assists with Activity Participation including encouragement of residents to participate, leading and performing activity programs, and documentation of residents participation.


9. Ensures that all resident call lights are promptly answered, followed by appropriate responses to requests.


10. Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning meal area, as needed.


11. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.


12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or the Executive Director.

Education and Experience
