Job summary

Senior Solutions, Inc in Suwanee, GA seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily nursing care and support to residents in long-term or rehabilitative care settings, under supervisor guidance.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily routines, reporting observations, reviewing care plans, supporting activity participation, responding to call lights, helping with meals, and maintaining confidentiality. CPR/First Aid certification is required or training completed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR, first aid training and personal hygiene documentation with nurse instructor preferred.
• Prior Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily routines and personal care as needed.
• Report observations and other pertinent information related to resident care.
• Review care plans to identify changes in daily care routines.
• Provide input in standards of care formulation and evaluation.
• Assist with activity participation and document resident participation.
• Ensure all resident call lights are answered promptly and respond to requests.
• Assist with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleanup.

Education

Duties

1. Assists the resident in any daily routines, any personal care and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.


2. Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the resident.


3. Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident and daily review care plans to determine ID changes in the daily care routine have been made.


4. Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.


5. Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.


6. Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit facility policies.


7. Surveys for safety and picks up resident's room each day. Removes all soiled linens from rooms. Bed linens, towels and wash cloths are to be changed once a week or as necessary.


8. Assists with Activity Participation including encouragement of residents to participate, leading and performing activity programs, and documentation of residents participation.


9. Ensures that all resident call lights are promptly answered, followed by appropriate responses to requests.


10. Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning meal area, as needed.


11. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.


12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or the Executive Director.

Education and Experience

1. Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.


2. Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.


3. Completion of certification program for Nursing Assistants preferred.


4. Experience working with the elderly is desirable.


5. Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.


6. Must be certified in C.P.R., first aid training and documentation of Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor.
