Job summary

Senior Solutions Management Group is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily nursing care and support for long-term or rehabilitative residents. The role follows established procedures, directed by a supervisor, with emphasis on safety, confidentiality, and teamwork.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, (preferred) Nursing Assistant certification, CPR/First Aid, and experience with elderly residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant program completion preferred.
• Experience working with the elderly desirable.
• Must be able to read, speak and write English.
• CPR and first aid certification required.
• Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily routines, personal care and housekeeping tasks.
• Reports observations and other pertinent information related to resident care.
• Review care plans and determine changes in daily care routines.
• Provide input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
• Participate in identifying staff educational needs.
• Maintain professional conduct per facility policies.
• Survey for safety and change linens as needed.
• Assist with Activity Participation and document resident participation.
• Ensure call lights are answered promptly and respond to requests.
• Assist with dietary responsibilities, serving meals and cleaning meal area.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary of Responsibility

Provides routine daily nursing care and services that support the care delivered to residents requiring long-term or rehabilitative care, in accordance with the established nursing care procedures and as directed by the supervisor.

Duties

1. Assists the resident in any daily routines, any personal care and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.


2. Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the resident.


3. Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident and daily review care plans to determine ID changes in the daily care routine have been made.


4. Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.


5. Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.


6. Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit facility policies.


7. Surveys for safety and picks up resident's room each day. Removes all soiled linens from rooms. Bed linens, towels and wash cloths are to be changed once a week or as necessary.


8. Assists with Activity Participation including encouragement of residents to participate, leading and performing activity programs, and documentation of residents participation.


9. Ensures that all resident call lights are promptly answered, followed by appropriate responses to requests.


10. Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning meal area, as needed.


11. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.


12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or the Executive Director.

Education and Experience

1. Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.


2. Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.


3. Completion of certification program for Nursing Assistants preferred.


4. Experience working with the elderly is desirable.


5. Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.


6. Must be certified in C.P.R., first aid training and documentation of Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor.
