Job summary

Senior Solutions, Inc. is seeking a attentive Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily care to residents in long-term or rehabilitative settings. Shifts are 2pm-10pm, four days on, two days off, supporting our care team and supervising staff.

You will assist residents with daily routines, report observations, support care plans, and help maintain cleanliness and safety. Must have high school diploma; CNA preferred; CPR/First Aid certification; English proficient; experience with the elderly is

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
• Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
• Completion of certification program for Nursing Assistants preferred.
• Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
• Must be certified in CPR and First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily routines and personal care and housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Report observations related to resident care.
• Support daily care plans and note changes in care needs.
• Contribute to formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
• Identify staff educational needs.
• Maintain professional conduct per facility policies.
• Ensure room cleanliness and linen changes as required.
• Encourage participation in activities and document participation.
• Answer resident call lights promptly and respond to requests.
• Assist with dietary tasks, including serving meals and cleaning meal areas.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or Executive Director.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Nursing Assistant certification (preferred)

CPR and First Aid certification

Ability to read, speak and write English

Summary of Responsibility

Provides routine daily nursing care and services that support the care delivered to residents
requiring long-term or rehabilitative care, in accordance with the established nursing care
procedures and as directed by the supervisor. Hours are 2pm-10pm, 4 days on, 2 days off.

Duties

1. Assists the resident in any daily routines, any personal care and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.
2. Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the resident.
3. Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident and daily review care plans to determine ID changes in the daily care routine have been made.
4. Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
5. Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.
6. Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit facility policies.
7. Surveys for safety and picks up resident’s room each day. Removes all soiled linens from rooms. Bed linens, towels and wash cloths are to be changed once a week or as necessary.
8. Assists with Activity Participation including encouragement of residents to participate, leading and performing activity programs, and documentation of residents participation.
9. Ensures that all resident call lights are promptly answered, followed by appropriate responses to requests.
10. Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning meal area, as needed.
11. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or the Executive Director.

Education and Experience

1. Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
2. Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
3. Completion of certification program for Nursing Assistants preferred.
4. Experience working with the elderly is desirable.
5. Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
6. Must be certified in C.P.R., first aid training and documentation of Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor.
