Job summary

Senior Solutions Management Group is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily care and supportive services to residents requiring long-term or rehabilitative care, under supervision. The role aligns with established nursing procedures and emphasizes timely observation, safety, and compassionate resident support.

Responsibilities include assisting residents with daily routines, reporting observations, and participating in care plan reviews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
• Completion of CNA certification preferred.
• Experience working with the elderly desirable.
• Must read, speak and write English.
• Must be CPR and First Aid certified; Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily routines and personal care.
• Report observations and care-related information to supervisor.
• Support daily care plans and identify changes in routines.
• Contribute to standards of care formulation and evaluation.
• Identify staff education needs related to care.
• Maintain professional conduct per facility policies.
• Ensure rooms are clean and linens are changed as needed.
• Encourage resident participation in activities and document participation.
• Respond promptly to call lights and requests.
• Assist with dietary duties, including serving meals and cleaning areas.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or executive director.

Summary of Responsibility

Provides routine daily nursing care and services that support the care delivered to residents requiring long-term or rehabilitative care, in accordance with the established nursing care procedures and as directed by the supervisor.

Duties

1. Assists the resident in any daily routines, any personal care and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.
2. Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the resident.
3. Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident and daily review care plans to determine ID changes in the daily care routine have been made.
4. Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
5. Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.
6. Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit facility policies.
7. Surveys for safety and picks up resident’s room each day. Removes all soiled linens from rooms. Bed linens, towels and wash cloths are to be changed once a week or as necessary.
8. Assists with Activity Participation including encouragement of residents to participate, leading and performing activity programs, and documentation of residents participation.
9. Ensures that all resident call lights are promptly answered, followed by appropriate responses to requests.
10. Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning meal area, as needed.
11. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or the Executive Director.

Education and Experience

1. Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
2. Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
3. Completion of certification program for Nursing Assistants preferred.
4. Experience working with the elderly is desirable.
5. Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
6. Must be certified in C.P.R., first aid training and documentation of Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor.
