Job summary

Senior-Solutions-Management-Group is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily nursing care and services for residents requiring long-term or rehabilitative care, under supervision, in accordance with established nursing procedures. The role includes assisting residents in daily routines, reporting observations, and reviewing care plans.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, nursing assistant certification, CPR/First Aid, and experience with the elderly.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
• Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
• Completion of certification program for Nursing Assistants preferred.
• Experience working with the elderly is desirable.
• Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
• Must be certified in C.P.R., first aid training and documentation of Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents in daily routines, personal care, and housekeeping tasks.
• Report observations and other pertinent information related to care.
• Provide services that support care and review care plans for changes.
• Contribute to formulation and evaluation of care standards.
• Identify staff educational needs.
• Maintain professional conduct per facility policies.
• Survey for safety and manage room linen changes.
• Encourage and participate in resident activity programs.
• Ensure call lights are answered promptly and respond to requests.
• Assist with dietary responsibilities and kitchen cleanliness.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Duties

1. Assists the resident in any daily routines, any personal care and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.


2. Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the resident.


3. Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident and daily review care plans to determine ID changes in the daily care routine have been made.


4. Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.


5. Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.


6. Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit facility policies.


7. Surveys for safety and picks up resident's room each day. Removes all soiled linens from rooms. Bed linens, towels and wash cloths are to be changed once a week or as necessary.


8. Assists with Activity Participation including encouragement of residents to participate, leading and performing activity programs, and documentation of residents participation.


9. Ensures that all resident call lights are promptly answered, followed by appropriate responses to requests.


10. Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning meal area, as needed.


11. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.


12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or the Executive Director.

Education and Experience

1. Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
