Golden Care in San Diego County, California seeks compassionate Caregivers to provide non-medical care and personal support in clients' homes. The role focuses on safety, comfort, independence, and dignity, delivering ADL assistance, companionship, and dementia support under individualized care plans.

The position offers flexible scheduling (day, evening, overnight, weekend), paid training, and a supportive office team, with pathways to ongoing professional development and a stable work

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months of professional or private caregiving experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to pass a DOJ/FBI background screening.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and California Home Care Aide registration.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting and incontinence care.
• Provide companionship, emotional support, and social engagement.
• Support clients with dementia or memory care and monitor for wandering or confusion.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and fall prevention.
• Perform light housekeeping, meal prep, and nutrition support.
• Provide transportation to appointments and community activities as needed.
• Document changes in condition and communicate with supervisors using mobile apps.

Position Overview

The Caregiver is responsible for delivering exceptional non-medical support and personal care services to clients in accordance with individualized care plans. This role requires professionalism, reliability, empathy, and a genuine commitment to promoting each client's safety, comfort, and independence.

Key Responsibilities

Personal Care Assistance Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including: Bathing Grooming and personal hygiene Dressing Toileting and incontinence care Oral care Feeding assistance when necessary Companionship & Emotional Support Foster meaningful relationships through companionship and social engagement. Provide emotional support while respecting each client's dignity and individuality. Dementia & Memory Care Support Provide supervision and support for clients living with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or related cognitive conditions. Maintain a safe and structured environment while monitoring for behaviors such as wandering, confusion, or paranoia. Mobility & Safety Assistance Assist with ambulation, positioning, and transfers. Promote client safety and reduce fall risks during mobility-related activities. Household Support Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties. Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe living environment. Meal Preparation & Nutrition Prepare meals according to client preferences and dietary requirements. Encourage and support healthy nutrition habits. Transportation & Community Support Provide transportation to appointments, errands, grocery shopping, and social activities as needed. Communication & Documentation Adhere to client care plans, company policies, and safety protocols. Observe, document, and promptly report changes in a client's condition or well-being. Maintain timely and professional communication with supervisors and office staff. Utilize mobile applications and electronic systems for care documentation and communication.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 months of professional or private caregiving experience. Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid Driver's License and reliable personal transportation. Ability to pass a DOJ/FBI criminal background screening. Current negative Tuberculosis (TB) test or willingness to obtain one. Ability to provide documentation verifying eligibility to work in the United States. Current California Home Care Aide (HCA) registration, or willingness to obtain registration prior to employment.
