Job summary

LIFE, Inc. - Edenton is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist clients with daily living activities and participate in community programs. The role supports self-care, meals, medication administration, and safe transport in company vehicles.

The position offers competitive benefits and opportunities for growth, with a schedule including a 2PM-10PM shift every other weekend and PRN coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
• NC Driver's License required.
• 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist and monitor clients in self-care activities (dressing, bathing, toileting).
• Assist during meals to promote family-style dining.
• Help with housekeeping tasks (clothes care, cleaning, yard work).
• Assist with meal preparation and nutritional supplements.
• Assist with medication administration under supervision.
• Support prescribed diet orders and use of adaptive equipment.
• Follow behavior programs, collect data, and follow safety procedures.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team communication and document client information.
• Transport clients in company vehicles and accompany on community outings.
• Support clients during school and day program activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by managers.

Shift Details: a 2PM-10pm every other weekend and PRN (as needed) for all shifts

Responsibilities

• Assist and monitor clients while dressing, bathing, toileting, and in all other aspects of self-care.
• Assist and monitor clients during meals to ensure utilization of family style dining.
• Assist and monitor clients in all aspects of housekeeping responsibilities (Clothing care, house cleaning, and yard care).
• Assist and monitor clients in preparing meals and nutritional supplements.
• Assist and monitor clients in the administration of prescribed medication without error.
• Assist and monitor clients in the implementation of prescribed diet orders and utilization of adaptive equipment
• Implement and follow all established behavior programs, data collection, and established safety procedures.
• Assist and monitor clients in appropriate active treatment including training objective plans, recording data, and implementing service goals.
• Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team and to communicate appropriate clients information as directed by supervisory staff.
• Transport and monitor clients on Company vehicles as directed.
• Assist and monitor clients during community outings.
• Assist and monitor clients during participation at school and day program activities.
• Other duties as assigned by managers.
