Job summary

LIFE, Inc. - Elizabeth City is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist and monitor clients with daily activities, including self-care, meals, and community outings. Applicants must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, a valid NC driver's license, and be at least 21 years old.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist and monitor clients with self-care tasks.
• Facilitate family style dining during meals.
• Help with clothing care and house cleaning.
• Prepare meals and nutritional supplements.
• Administer prescribed medications accurately.
• Implement prescribed diet orders and use adaptive equipment.
• Follow behavior programs and safety procedures.
• Support clients in active treatment plans.
• Transport clients as needed.
• Facilitate community outings.
• Assist clients during day program activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist and monitor clients while dressing, bathing, toileting, and in all other aspects of self-care.
• Assist and monitor clients during meals to ensure utilization of family style dining.
• Assist and monitor clients in all aspects of housekeeping responsibilities (Clothing care, house cleaning, and yard care).
• Assist and monitor clients in preparing meals and nutritional supplements.
• Assist and monitor clients in the administration of prescribed medication without error.
• Assist and monitor clients in the implementation of prescribed diet orders and utilization of adaptive equipment
• Implement and follow all established behavior programs, data collection, and established safety procedures.
• Assist and monitor clients in appropriate active treatment including training objective plans, recording data, and implementing service goals.
• Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team and to communicate appropriate clients information as directed by supervisory staff.
• Transport and monitor clients on Company vehicles as directed.
• Assist and monitor clients during community outings.
• Assist and monitor clients during participation at school and day program activities.
