Job summary

Savant of Downey is seeking a dedicated Caregiver to join our team. You will provide direct care and medication assistance to residents, supporting daily living activities such as grooming, bathing, and mobility, under the supervision of the Wellness Director.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR and First Aid certifications, and fluency in English. This role emphasizes safety, comfort, and compassionate, person-centered care in a warm community setting.

Qualifications

• This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR may be required.
• Must have First Aid Certification and follow state regulations.
• Fluent English (reading, writing and speaking).
• Ability to push, pull, and lift residents as needed; prolonged standing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and medication assistance to residents.
• Assist with activities of daily living (grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair care, transfers).
• Lift and transfer residents as needed; report to Wellness Director.

What you will do:

• Reporting to the Wellness Director, the Caregiver is responsible for providing direct care and medication assistance to the residents in a manner that meets or exceeds Community expectations.
• Provide assistance (or reminders) with activities of daily living, including grooming, oral hygiene, bath/shower, hair cleaning and brushing, and transferring to and from activities and meals, as needed.
• Lift and/or transfer residents as needed.

Must haves:

• This position prefers a high school diploma or equivalent certificate and a competent history in a similar facility.
• May need to possess current CPR
• Must possess valid First Aid Certifications and, according to state regulations
• Speak read and understand English fluently.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift residents and support their physical needs constantly.
• Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing.

Pay rate $18.00-$20.50 per hour
