Job summary

Universal Technical Institute in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Support Advisor for Career Services to guide students and graduates through résumés, interview skills, job searches, and offers, acting as their go-to coach every step of the way.

You’ll mentor and support graduates, provide centralized career assistance, manage the VOE inbox and employment documents, and help with counseling, outreach, and resume creation to boost employment outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in a related field preferred but not required.
  • 2–3 years of experience in education field preferred but not required.
  • Strong customer service, communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and support graduates to obtain gainful employment.
  • Provides centralized support for all aspects of graduate career assistance.
  • Manages VOE inbox, including processing employment documentation as needed
  • Provides centralized support for all aspects of employment services activities, including career counseling, interview skill building, graduate outreach, verification of employment follow-up, etc.
  • Assists with identifying local and graduate employment opportunities and populating job boards
  • Creates resumes for active students and graduates
  • Supports all appropriate employment services tasks for the home office and campus teams as needed.
  • Prepare students for the industry with mock interviews, resume preparation, career counseling sessions and support.
  • Maintain high employment rates by regularly engaging with students and graduates through various channels and leveraging the EDGE team to connect them with potential employers.
  • Ensure compliance with ACCSC standards and state guidelines by accurately documenting students' and graduates' employment records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

From polishing résumés and sharpening interview skills to navigating the job search and celebrating those big job offers—you’ll be their go-to coach every step of the way!

Education / Experience

  • Computer skills required (i.e., Word, Excel)

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Abilities
  • Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods throughout the workday.
  • Available flexible hours and some Saturdays
