Pima Medical Institute in Mesa, AZ is seeking a driven Career Services Advisor to guide students toward healthcare career success through externship placement, career readiness coaching, and job search guidance.

You will build partnerships with local providers, facilitate externships, coach resumes and interviews, and help graduates launch careers. This role emphasizes compliance and data management in CampusNexus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of recruitment, staffing, account management, or career placement experience.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication; strong relationship‑building, organizational, and motivational skills.
• Experience using CampusNexus or a CRM is preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Externship placement & clinical site management with proactive outreach.
• Student matching to externship sites based on assessments and instructor input.
• Conduct pre-externship orientation sessions.
• Lead job search coaching: resumes, interviewing, networking.

Position Summary

Champion student success and guide future healthcare professionals toward fulfilling careers! Pima Medical Institute is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Career Services Advisor to join our Mesa campus team.

In this vital role, you will empower students through externship placement, career readiness coaching, and job search guidance. You will build and maintain strong partnerships with local Mesa and Phoenix-area healthcare providers, facilitate externship opportunities, and provide students with the resume, interview, and networking tools needed to launch successful careers in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

Externship Placement & Clinical Site Management:

Site Outreach: Secure quality externship sites through proactive outreach strategies, including cold calling, networking, on-site visits, and email marketing to regional healthcare facilities.

Student Matching & Monitoring: Match students to appropriate externship sites based on assessments and instructor input; conduct site visits to evaluate student progress and maintain site availability data.

Pre-Placement Workshops: Conduct pre-externship orientation sessions to prepare students for professional clinical expectations.

Career Readiness & Employer Engagement:

Job Search Coaching: Organize and lead career development workshops covering resume writing, interview techniques, job search optimization, and professional networking.

Healthcare Partnerships: Cultivate long-term relationships with local healthcare employers to expand graduate hiring opportunities; facilitate Advisory Board meetings to align program offerings with industry needs.

Campus Events: Participate in campus career fairs, graduation ceremonies, and community networking events.

Compliance, Data Entry & Documentation:

Student Onboarding Compliance: Ensure all required pre-placement documentation (background checks, immunizations, CPR certifications, etc.) is complete and packaged into externship files.

System Reporting: Maintain accurate records of student, graduate, and employer interactions in CampusNexus; track credentialing, programmatic licensure, and employment verification metrics to meet goals.

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of recruitment, staffing, account management, or career placement experience.

Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency, database experience (CampusNexus or CRM preferred), and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.

Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication; strong relationship‑building, organizational, and motivational skills.

An equivalent combination of training, education, or relevant experience meeting minimum qualifications will be considered.

Hiring Range: $20.80 to $24.96 per hour.
