Job summary

Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) seeks a dedicated Job Coach to provide one-on-one supervision and guidance to students in vocational/career settings. This on-site role focuses on building workplace skills, independence, and collaboration with teachers and families to support successful transitions.

You will partner with local employers, adapt strategies to individual needs, and track progress to inform coaching plans within CREC’s comprehensive education programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two to three years of experience with students with disabilities encouraged.
• Ability to work independently and make effective decisions in a school-based setting.
• Experience building relationships with community organizations, employers, and service providers to support work-based learning for diverse students.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, on-site coaching to students at job placements, promoting work-related skills and appropriate workplace behavior.
• Build and maintain relationships with local businesses to support student placements and progress reporting.
• Adapt coaching approaches to individual student needs, including those with disabilities, to foster independence.
• Support student transitions into, between, or out of work-based learning experiences with continuity of services.
• Maintain communication with teachers, transition coordinators, and families to ensure cohesive student support.
• Gather and analyze student performance data to guide coaching strategies and transition planning.
