Job summary

The Steamship Authority in Falmouth, MA seeks a Manager of Workforce Training & Development to lead organization-wide trainings and career pathways. This full-time, non-union role coordinates, manages and executes workforce development programs and partners with internal stakeholders to assess organizational needs.

Responsibilities include implementing training programs, developing curricula, and facilitating courses with internal and external parties while driving employee recognition efforts

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of training experience.
• Excellent customer service and cultural sensitivity.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Fluency in Portuguese and/or Spanish highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Implement and oversee organization-wide training programs, including customer service and supervisory development.
• Collaborate with management to provide workforce development planning and support.
• Facilitate staff training courses with internal and external parties.
• Oversee customer facing training program implementations.
• Develop career pathways and curricula for career tracks.
• Manage surveys and assist managers with action plans.
• Develop staff and supervisory training for new hires throughout the year.
• Implement train-the-trainer model with external vendors.
• Partner with schools and training programs serving community residents.
• Assist with employee recognition programs in collaboration with HR.
• Manage execution of all workforce development activities and deadlines.
• Provide direction to subordinates on SQMS disciplines.
