Job summary

The Greater Washington Urban League seeks a Workforce Learning and Career Coaching Manager to design and deliver workforce development programs, lead career coaching, and build employer partnerships. The role emphasizes inclusive pedagogy, data-driven improvement, and impact on employment outcomes for diverse participants.

You will manage workshops, guide curricula, mentor staff, and collaborate with community organizations to align programming with labor market needs and organizational goals.

Qualifications

• : Bachelor's degree in Education, Adult Learning, Workforce Development, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field is required.
• : Master's degree in Adult Education, Organizational Leadership, Counseling, Workforce Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
• : Relevant professional certifications such as GCDF, CCSP, CWDP, or comparable workforce development and coaching credentials are a plus.
• : 5 years of progressive experience in business management and administration with significant experience managing a large team, preferably in nonprofit.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate workforce readiness workshops, career development courses, and professional skills training.
• Deliver instruction on career exploration and goal setting, resume/cover letter development, workplace communication, professionalism and soft skills, and digital literacy.
• Adapt curriculum to diverse learning styles and create inclusive learning environments.
• Provide one-on-one career coaching and develop individualized employment plans.
• Assist participants in identifying career pathways aligned with labor market opportunities.
• Support job search activities, networking, interview prep, salary negotiation, and career advancement.
• Monitor progress and maintain coaching documentation and referrals as needed.
• Coordinate training schedules, enrollment, and workshop logistics; track outcomes and ensure grant compliance.
