Qualifications

• Valid Iowa Teaching Certificate.
• Classroom teaching experience; 4+ years preferred; mentoring or coaching is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Meet with students regularly and oversee student-led structure of chapter.
• Maintain chapter registration and manage competition procedures.
• Develop lesson plans and use technology to stimulate learning.
• Collaborate with EdRising chapters district-wide and with university educator chapters.
• Diagnose student needs and appraise progress.
• Foster positive relationships with staff, parents, students, and administrators.
• Maintain professional competence through district-provided and self-chosen growth activities.
• Ensure students attend Iowa EdRising competitions.
