Qualifications

• Valid Iowa Teaching Certificate
• 4+ years classroom teaching experience preferred; mentoring or coaching is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.

Responsibilities

• Meet with students on a regular basis and oversee student-led structure of chapter.
• Keep up with chapter registration (EdRising) and management and planning procedures for competition and conferences.
• Develop lesson plans and appropriate technology utilizing effective teaching techniques to stimulate and maximize learning.
• Collaborate with other EdRising chapters in the district and University of Iowa Aspiring Educator chapters.
• Diagnose the needs and levels of performance for each student and appraise student work and progress.
• Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with staff, parents, students, and administrators.
• Maintain professional competence through professional development activities provided by the school district and self-selected professional growth activities.
• Ensure a group of students attend the Iowa EdRising competition with a goal of competing.
