Job summary

Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) is seeking a part-time Pastry & Baking Chef Instructor to lead hands-on classes in our NYC area facility. You will use our curriculum to mentor aspiring culinary professionals in a dynamic teaching environment.

The role requires a 2-year degree, at least seven years of pastry experience with supervisory duties, and strong classroom communication. Teaching experience is highly preferred, with weekends/evenings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Degree required.
  • Solid foundation in culinary and/or pastry & baking knowledge.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of pastry & baking experience with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Teaching experience highly preferred.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

POSITION SUMMARY:

ICE is seeking a Career Pastry & Baking Chef Instructors. The Career Culinary and Career Pastry & Baking Chef Instructors will use our curriculum to lead hands-on culinary or pastry & baking classes in an inspirational environment.

Requirements

  • Attend meetings and faculty orientation as required.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree required.
  • Must possess a solid foundation of culinary and/or pastry & baking knowledge, with a strong desire for continued learning
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of pastry & baking experience with some supervisory responsibilities. Fine Dining experience highly preferred.
  • Teaching experience highly preferred.
  • Flexible schedule (weekends and evenings) to accommodate ICE class schedules.
  • Must possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact in a collaborative manner with other departments and teams.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel

Up-to $650.00 per year reimbursement program for any combination of the following:
